Utility of Salivary and Serum Auto-antibodies against Tumor Biomarkers HER2 and MUC1 in Breast Cancer Screening

چکیده
Breast cancer is the most common cancer and considered as the second cause of mortality in woman (Begum et al., 2012). Early detection of this pathology is very useful way to decrease it (Tjemslanda and Soreide, 2004). Currently, mammography stills the gold standard test for breast cancer screening (Tarhan et al., 2014). However, breast cancer may be hard to detect in some women with dense breast tissues (Tarhan et al., 2013; Tarhan et al., 2014). Consequently, circulating tumors biomarkers attracted more attention to detect cancer at an early stage, in diagnosis, treatment and metastasis prediction (Porika et al., 2010; Maric et al., 2011). In breast cancer, many biomarkers are used for this purpose such as HER2 (human epidermal growth factor receptor) and CA 15-3 (Cancer Antigen) (Maric et al., 2011; Moazzezy et al., 2014). In fact, HER2 is overexpressed in 20%-25% of breast cancers, gene amplification has been observed in

Immunogenicity of chimeric MUC1-HER2 vaccine against breast cancer in mice
Objective(s): Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in the world and is on the increase. MUC1 and HER2 as tumor-associated antigens (TAAs) are abnormally expressed to some extent in 75–80% of breast cancers. In our present research, a novel chimeric MUC1-HER2 (HM) protein was designed and used to study whether an immune response can be generated against these TAAs. In vitro analysis ...

متن کاملAnti-MUC1 Antibody in Nipple Aspirate Fluids Correlates with Tumor Aggressiveness in Breast Cancer: A Feasibility Study
Antibodies against MUC1 are found in circulation of breast cancer (BC) patients. We hypothesized that anti-MUC1 antibodies might be present in even a higher concentration in nipple aspirate fluid (NAF) and could be used to predict aggressiveness of BC. Serum and NAF samples were collected from high risk lesions, BC, and healthy contralateral breasts. ELISA was used to measure the amount of IgG,...
متن کاملPolyclonal Antibody against Different Extracellular Subdomains of HER2 Induces Tumor Growth Inhibition in vitro
Background: Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) has a crucial role in several malignancies. The extracellular domain of HER2 (HER2-ECD) has been extensively employed as an important target in passive and active immunotherapy. Isolated recombinant prokaryotic HER2-ECD subdomains were previously found to be ineffective in inducing anti-tumor antibody response. Objective: To employ rec...
متن کاملThe Interaction Between the Expression of Proliferative Biomarkers and Clinical Characteristics in Breast Cancer
Introduction: Proliferation of cancer cells and the potential of metastasis depend on the activity of different biomarkers such as proliferative ones. Proliferative biomarkers including ki-67, cyclin E1, cyclin D1, p27, and p21 were analyzed through immunohistochemistry (IHC) in previous studies. Methods: The current study aimed at investigating the utilizing role of RT-PCR in studying prolife...
